Getting started
How the $499 refundable challenge deposit works
Jonathon PirpichNASM-Certified Personal Trainer5 min read

The short answer
You put down a $499 deposit to start the 6-Week Challenge. At your intro visit you and Jonathon set your goal. Show up, follow your plan, and do your check-ins and scans, and the full $499 comes back to you. Most people roll it into their next month as credit. If you do the work and still feel it wasn't worth it, you get it back in cash.
The $499 is a deposit, and you get it back. That's the part people don't quite believe, so this post lays out every piece of it in plain English, including the parts a sales page would normally bury.
How does the $499 refundable deposit work?
You put down $499 to start the 6-Week Challenge. At your intro visit you and Jonathon agree on your goal for the 6 weeks. Show up, follow your plan, and do your check-ins and scans, and the full $499 comes back to you.
| Step | What happens | Money |
|---|---|---|
| Intro visit | Goal gets set together | $0 |
| Start the challenge | Deposit holds your spot | $499 down |
| Weeks 1 to 6 | 12 sessions, nutrition plan, daily check-ins | Nothing extra |
| Week 3 check-in | You see your progress and talk options | Nothing extra |
| End of week 6 | Goal hit | $499 back, as credit or cash |
Why is there a deposit at all?
Skin in the game. People who pay show up, and people who show up get results. The deposit is the thing that makes the program actually work, which is exactly why it comes back when it does.
Think about how most fitness plans actually die. Week one is easy. It's week three or four, on a Tuesday, when you're tired and it's easy to skip because nothing happens if you do. A deposit makes that Tuesday matter.
What do you have to do to get it back?
Do the program. Specifically: show up for your sessions, follow your plan, and do your check-ins and your Day 1 and Day 42 body-composition scans.
Your specific goal is set at the intro visit, so you know exactly what counts before you put a dollar down. If you want to know what that visit looks like, read what happens at your free intro visit. The point of the structure is simple: if you do the work, the program is free.
What do you get for the 6 weeks?
Everything, with no add-ons. That's 12 1:1 sessions with Jonathon (two a week, 60 minutes each), a custom training plan, a custom nutrition plan, daily accountability check-ins by text, a goal-setting kickoff, and body-composition scans on Day 1 and Day 42.
Napkin math on what that would cost à la carte: 12 sessions at Flower Mound's typical $60 to $150 per session is $720 to $1,800 before anyone writes you a meal plan or texts you on a Wednesday. The full breakdown of local prices is in what personal training costs in Flower Mound.
What happens at Week 3?
Jonathon walks you through what continuing would look like, with your own results in front of you. That's it. No surprise at the end, and nothing auto-renews.
What you should realistically see on your numbers by Week 3, and by Day 42, is laid out in how long it takes to see results from personal training.
This is the part most programs hide, so here it is plainly: if you want to keep training after the challenge, your $499 rolls in as credit toward your next month, which makes that month free. If you're done after 6 weeks, you take your $499 and leave as friends.
Can you get the $499 back in cash?
Yes. If you do the work and still feel it wasn't worth it, you get the $499 back in cash.
Most people roll it into continuing instead, because by week six they've seen their scan numbers move and they don't want to stop. That's your call, and it stays your call.
Is there a contract?
No contract, no hidden fees. Coaching after the challenge is month to month, and if you ever need to pause or stop, you text Jonathon and it's handled.
You keep going because it works. That's the only retention plan we have, and frankly it's the only one that should exist in this industry.
What if all 10 spots are full?
You go on the waitlist and the next opening goes to the next person in line. Jonathon only takes 10 challenge clients at a time, so the calendar stays clean and every client actually gets coached.
There's no group start date. Your 6 weeks start the day you walk in.
Is this right for you?
It's right if what failed before was sticking with it. Most people already know what to do. If you're comparing formats, semi-private vs group vs 1:1 training covers which one fixes which problem.

Common questions
Is the 6-Week Challenge really free?

Can I get the $499 back in cash instead of credit?

Is there a contract after the challenge?

What happens at the Week 3 check-in?
Jonathon walks you through what continuing after the challenge would look like, with your own progress in front of you. Nothing is sprung on you at the end, and nothing renews automatically.
Why charge a deposit at all?
